BG Effie Defrin Appointed as the IDF Spokesperson
IDF: The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, has appointed BG Effie Defrin as the IDF Spokesperson. The appointment was approved by the Minister of Defense, Israel Katz.
BG Defrin, a combat commander, fought and was wounded in the Second Lebanon War as a tank battalion commander and continued to serve in key roles in the IDF. In his most recent position, he served as the Head of the International Cooperation Division.
He will replace the current IDF Spokesperson, RDML Daniel Hagari, in the near future, following an orderly and professional transition.
The Chief of the General Staff thanked RDML Hagari for his significant service as a combat soldier, commander of Shayetet 13, and IDF Spokesperson during the war, and wished him success in the future.
