Senior IDF officials held a workshop on the subject of the “Momentum” plan
Over the last two days, members of the General Staff and other senior officers took part in a workshop dedicated to the status of the IDF's multi-year plan, Momentum.
The workshop, which was held at the Dayan Base in Glilot, presented the implementation progress of the decisions of the multi-year program so far, including increasing the readiness to respond in the first and third circles, improving offensive capabilities, strengthening multi-force cooperation, responding to increasing threats in all theaters, the digital revolution, and preserving the IDF’s intelligence might.
During the workshop, the commanding officers of the Forces and Commands reviewed the progress of the multi-year plan’s implementation, in the light of the operational concept of victory, emphasizing military dominance in current and future combat theaters.
The workshop included an in-depth discussion on the potential for change and efficiency in the IDF, as examined by the Planning Directorate.
Among other things, a variety of ideas to increase efficiency were presented, including: collaborative transportation for soldiers; reducing bureaucracy by means of digital innovation; realizing the advantage of the IDF in a variety of procurement areas; and upgrading the recruitment process by reducing infrastructure and procedures in recruitment bureaus.
The participants in the workshop were divided into a number of teams that dealt with recommendations on the order of priority required for the future implementation of the plan in 2021.
