At the end of Operation “Guardian of the Walls”: The Chief of the General Staff visited the Southern Command Headquarters

Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi: "You played a critical role in the achievements of the operation."

Yesterday (Sunday), the Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi, visited the Southern Command Headquarters as part of a series of visits he plans to make this week to units which participated in Operation “Guardian of the Walls”.

The Southern Command led and initiated the strikes against the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip during the operation, using innovative and state-of-the-art tools prepared in advance.

The commanders, including many reservists, devoted their time and energy to the success of the operation and the realization of the goals set for it.

The Southern Command operated as a single unit in joint cooperation with air, sea and ground forces alongside other security agencies, at a rapid operational pace that relied on deep and accurate intelligence.

"Each and every one of you has an important part in the critical role played by the Southern Command in the success of the operation. It was your dedication, professionalism and creativity that ensured the realization of the goals we set for ourselves.

“You have a significant part in everything I say. I think the Southern Command led this campaign in an extraordinary way. I am very proud to be your commander, we are all fortunate to have such soldiers, officers and senior commanders in the Southern Command. There are people in this room who have saved lives, which is in and of itself a great accomplishment - remember that this is what the IDF stands for."
