The IDF and ISA eliminated Mohammed Odeh - Head of Hamas’ Military Wing appointed following the elimination of Izz al-Din al-Haddad and Head of Hamas’ Intelligence Headquarters
The IDF and ISA announce that yesterday (Tuesday), in a strike in the northern Gaza Strip, the terrorist Mohammed Odeh was eliminated. Odeh served as the Head of Hamas’ military wing following the elimination of Izz al-Din al-Haddad, and as Head of the terrorist organization’s intelligence headquarters.
As part of the joint IDF and ISA operation to eliminate the terrorist Mohammed Odeh, terror infrastructure sites in the heart of Gaza City that Odeh used to hideout were struck. This followed months of intelligence monitoring aimed at tracking the movements of Odeh and his operatives. Simultaneously, a nearby apartment belonging to a Hamas terrorist who infiltrated Israel on October 7th, and was part of Odeh’s circle of operatives, was struck.
Prior to the strikes, steps were taken to mitigate harm to civilians, including the use of precise munitions and aerial surveillance.
Odeh served as the Head of Hamas' military wing over the past two weeks, following the elimination of Izz al-Din al-Haddad. In recent years, Odeh served as the Head of Hamas’ intelligence headquarters. As part of his role, he was responsible for planning and coordinating Hamas terrorists’ infiltration and attack targets during the October 7th massacre.
Additionally, throughout the war, Odeh was involved in the orchestration of numerous terror attacks and led Hamas’ intelligence gathering and analysis efforts for the purpose of executing terror attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. Hamas' intelligence headquarters, under Odeh’s command, aided and advanced Hamas’ terrorist activities and operations, posing a threat to IDF troops and Israeli civilians.
Odeh is one of the last senior commanders in Hamas’ military wing who took part in the planning and execution of the October 7th massacre and the management of combat operations against IDF troops. His elimination constitutes a significant blow to the Hamas terrorist organization’s rehabilitation efforts.
