Conclusion of the Air Force "Vered Hagalil" Exercise
The IAF exercise "Vered Hagalil" has come to an end.
The surprise exercise was initiated as a means of training the transition from routine to emergency, and tested all the mechanisms and procedures carried out by the Air Force in transition to a state of high alert.
The entire Air Force, including dozens of aircraft and hundreds of rapidly recruited reservists, took part in the exercise, during which they practiced intense fighting, air defense scenarios, command and control, precise planning, extensive and powerful offensive procedures, and practiced attacking thousands of targets and delivering multiple armaments, all to simulate war in the northern theater.
As part of the Air Force's culture of comprehensive After Action Reviews (AAR), the relevant lessons learned from this exercise will be utilized to preserve and promote high competence and readiness.
Commanding Officer of the Israeli Air Force, Maj. Gen. Amikam Norkin: "The exercise has improved the Air Force's readiness to fight in the northern theater of operations through effective training and drills that have lasted for the past three days. We will continue to defend our country's skies, while preserving the superiority of the Air Force in the region."
